Job summary

Interaction Technical is seeking a Junior Agricultural Engineer near Retford, Nottinghamshire to work on agricultural, ground-care and garden machinery. You will develop toward becoming a qualified agricultural & ground-care equipment technician while building a long-term career in the sector.

Salary £26,000 - £29,000 per annum, with 32 days holiday including bank holidays, birthday day off, overtime opportunities, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Hydraulics experience alongside mechanical and electrical systems is essential.
• Experience in agricultural, automotive, material handling or mechanical engineering environments is advantageous.
• Experience with electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, repair and servicing is advantageous.
• Experience with engines and batteries is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service machinery and carry out emergency breakdown repairs.
• Work on tractors, combines, balers and related equipment.
• Travel to customer sites for servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Communicate with customers to diagnose faults and provide solutions.
• Complete documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain high standards and align with customer expectations.

The Role

As an Agricultural Engineer, you will work on a wide range of agricultural, horticultural and ground-care machinery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing faults, servicing machinery and carrying out emergency breakdown repairs
• Working on agricultural machinery includingtractors, combines, balers and other equipment
• Travelling to customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Using diagnostic equipment to identifymechanical and electrical faults
• Working onengines, batteries and hydraulic systems
• Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs
• Working independently at customer sites while maintaining close communication with colleagues
• Completing relevant documentation accurately and efficiently
• Liaising directly with customers to diagnose faults and identify effective solutions
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with customer expectations

The Requirements

• Previous experience working withhydraulicsalongside mechanical and electrical systems -essential
• Experience withinagricultural, automotive, material handling or mechanical engineeringenvironments - advantageous
• Experience inelectrical and/or mechanical fault finding, repair and servicing- advantageous
• Experience working withengines and batteries- advantageous
• AnNVQ, City & Guilds or similar qualificationin mechanical or electrical engineering - advantageous
• Afull UK driving licence- advantageous
• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within agricultural engineering
• A willingness to learn, undertake training and develop your technical skillset
