Job description

Role: Junior Maintenance Engineer
Location: Shrewsbury
Type: Permanent
Hours: Days, any 5/7 days

Do you have an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations and looking to start your career in a company that values your development? Russell Taylor has an excellent opportunity to step into a Junior Maintenance Engineer role in a food manufacturing environment!

The Role:

  1. Perform regular preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of food production machinery and equipment, including conveyor systems, packaging machines, and processing equipment.
  2. Quickly and accurately diagnose faults and breakdowns in both mechanical and electrical systems, working to minimise downtime and disruption to production.
  3. Work alongside the production team to ensure that all equipment runs at optimal efficiency, while adhering to food safety and health regulations.
  4. Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
  5. Identify opportunities for process improvement.

The Candidate:
  1. Hold a NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (essential).
  2. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
  3. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods, lifting equipment, and operating tools.
  4. Welding experience or 18th edition would be advantageous.
  5. Previous experience working in a production environment.
