Job description

Nomios' mission is to build a secure and connected future, focusing on delivering top-tier cybersecurity services to our customers. Organisations across the globe depend on us to secure their digital infrastructures.

In support of our continued growth, we are seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join our legal team and support the UK&I business within a pan-European cybersecurity group. Based in Basingstoke, with the flexibility to work from our London office, this role offers an excellent opportunity to build broad in-house legal experience within a fast-growing international organisation.

Your role as Junior Legal Counsel

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will work closely with commercial teams and colleagues across the wider Nomios Group, providing practical legal support on a broad range of matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career lawyer to develop a well-rounded in-house legal skillset within a fast-growing, private equity-backed international business. As part of a small and collaborative legal team, you will gain meaningful responsibility from day one and exposure to a wide variety of work, including commercial contracting, employment law, data protection, corporate matters, legal operations, and M&A activity.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Group-wide initiatives, legal technology projects, and business integration activities, while working with stakeholders across multiple European jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners, with a particular focus on IT and cybersecurity services, reseller, and vendor agreements.
  • Acting as a day-to-day point of contact for legal queries from UK&I colleagues, escalating to and coordinating with the wider legal team where appropriate.
  • Supporting the legal function on employment law, data protection (UK GDPR), and corporate matters as they arise.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments relevant to the UK&I business and highlighting potential implications to the wider team.
  • Contributing to Group-wide policies, contract templates, and legal technology initiatives.
  • Supporting mergers and acquisitions and integration projects, including exposure to due diligence and post-completion matters.
  • Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business and wider Nomios Group.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of legal processes and ways of working.
The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate:
  • 1-3 years' experience in a legal role, such as a trainee solicitor, paralegal, or junior in-house counsel position.
  • A degree in Law or an equivalent legal qualification.
  • A solid grounding in English commercial contract law and a genuine interest in developing broader in-house expertise across employment, privacy, and corporate matters.
  • An interest in the IT, cybersecurity, or wider technology sector would be advantageous.
  • A pragmatic and commercially minded approach, with confidence engaging directly with stakeholders across the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Additional European language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
Job Specifics
  • Location: This role is based at our Basingstoke office, and for occasional home-working by agreement (free hot & cold drinks, breakfast items, snacks, lunches, and regular takeaway Fridays are provided to all staff in the office!).
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to other Nomios offices in Europe.
Why would you choose to come and work with us?

You will get to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you are free to use your initiative in support of our strategic objectives. You will work alongside high calibre sales, technical, and operational experts as part of a supportive, tight-knit team, within which every individual has an important part to play and makes a real difference.
