About

One of the UK's largest confectionery companies is looking for a junior Lab Technician to join their team in Reading. This role is suitable for someone with an interest or qualification in the food and/or science industry.

Responsibilities

• Work across different departments including analytical, food product development, and food manufacturing as needed.
• Provide high-quality customer service by effectively organizing workload, ensuring data integrity, and delivering timely and accurate results.
• Perform routine analysis, product manufacturing, and sample preparation under supervision.
• Follow specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
• Operate laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including calibration.
• Maintain accurate records of work and results.
• Follow product formulations and methods, adhering to food safety standards.
• Operate basic laboratory and manufacturing equipment as directed.
• Use relevant software packages, such as the Laboratory’s LIMS system and Q-Pulse.
• Perform administrative and housekeeping duties as required.

Qualifications

• A levels in a scientific discipline are preferred.
