Job summary

Station in Didcot is looking for a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join the internal technology team. This hands-on role offers exposure across on-premises and cloud environments, with mentoring as you develop skills in Linux, networking, servers and automation.

You'll monitor infrastructure and services, support Linux and Windows environments, manage backups and assist with disaster recovery activities while documenting processes and contributing to improvements across the technical estate.

Qualifications

• Some experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration or technical support.
• Basic understanding of Linux, networking, servers or cloud technology.

Responsibilities

• Monitor infrastructure and services, respond to issues and investigate problems.
• Support Linux and Windows environments.
• Work across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Support databases and related infrastructure.
• Manage backups and assist disaster recovery activities.
• Carry out system patching and routine maintenance.
• Support virtualised and physical infrastructure.
• Maintain monitoring and improve visibility across systems.
• Investigate issues and contribute to longer-term solutions.
• Support wider infrastructure, security and networking tasks.
• Maintain documentation and established processes.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements across the environment.
• Occasional out-of-hours maintenance when required.
