Job summary

Transforming Learning Group Ltd invites a Junior ICT Consultant to join Turn IT on in Southampton, bringing a real flair for technology and a passion for providing exemplary service to our customers.

You will maintain IT hardware and services across the schools’ sites, support teaching with ICT solutions, and help improve the ICT provisions to enable effective teaching and learning. The role requires at least 2 years’ experience in ICT support and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in ICT Technician/2nd line support, preferably in education.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with a courteous manner.
• Ability to explain technical issues in layman’s terms to customers.

Responsibilities

• Resolve and manage technical issues impacting the school’s ICT operations.
• Install or repair computers with standardised applications and networking software; diagnose and fix problems.
• Provide desktop and network support across the school, including iPads, printers, and AV equipment.

Job description

Turn IT on are looking for an Junior ICT Consultant who has a real flair for technology mixed with a passion for providing exemplary service to our customers, join our team supporting one of our schools in Southampton.

You will be responsible for maintaining all IT hardware and services across the schools’ sites as well as helping the schools improve the standard of their ICT provisions and enable them to deliver effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.

You will facilitate communication between your school and turn IT on keeping them up to date with what services turn IT on can offer and manage the accounts of your customers. You will be skilled in maintaining school computer equipment, installing new and existingsoftware across the network, provide technical support for users and resolve identified technical problems. You will also have good knowledge of common user applications and good experience of using Microsoft Office365.

The ideal candidate will ideally have at least 2 years’ experience in working in a previous ICT Technician/2 nd line support preferably in the education sector although not essential.

You will be passionate about IT with a strong technical background, be self-motivated and enjoy providing excellent customer service. This role requires you to be a team player, have strong communication and organisation skills along with a courteous manner with the ability to explain technical issues in layman’s terms to our customers.

You should be able to work independently and have an aptitude for problem solving and a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve services provided by your team.

Responsibilities include:

• Resolve and manage any technical issues that impacts the running of the school’s function by providing robust technical solutions
• Installation or repair of computers with standardised applications and networking software, diagnosing, and solving problems that develop in their operations.
• Respond to a wide range of technical duties associated with the computer network and desktop services, primarily in connection with existing installations and upgrading of these installations. (Desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, pa equipment, AV lecterns and hardware)

The role is offered on a full-time, full year basis and successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
