Job summary

Ashridge House, Berkhamsted, is seeking a Junior Gardener to join the garden team. The role offers hands-on experience maintaining Grade II* historic grounds, including lawns, hedges, propagation, pruning and general grounds care.

Hours are 8-4 Monday–Friday with weekend rota; you will work with a lively pace and attention to detail. Ideal candidates will have gardening experience, enjoy working outdoors, and be comfortable operating a variety of garden machinery.

Qualifications

• Passion for outdoors and gardening.
• Attention to detail to ensure high standard of finish.
• Motivated, goal oriented and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Able to work alone or as part of a team with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Lawn maintenance, hedge cutting, propagation, pruning, and general grounds upkeep.
• Operation of a variety of garden machinery as required.
• Support maintenance of historic Grade II* grounds in all weather.
• Collaborate with head gardener and team to maintain high standards.
