Job summary

News UK is seeking a Junior Finance Manager to join our finance team and act as a business partner to optimise revenue and provide strategic financial insights for our broadcasting brands.

You will report to the Finance Manager in London with a dotted line to the Head of Finance in Peterborough, delivering robust month-end processes, performance analyses and accurate balance-sheet reconciliations.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with experience in a similar role or can demonstrate qualified by experience.
• Proven track record in Management Accounting within the broadcasting or media industry.
• Commercially aware coupled with strong accounting skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrable management experience

Responsibilities

• Drive the month-end process for revenue and related costs, seamlessly integrating your findings into the full profit and loss reporting.
• Collaborate with budget owners and other stakeholders to deliver financial insights that optimise revenue across all broadcasting operations.
• Analyse financial trends, variances, and performance metrics to support accurate budgeting and forecasting for our radio stations.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, including accrued and deferred revenue, to ensure reporting accuracy and mitigate risks.
• Oversee offshore resources and royalty reporting, ensuring timely, accurate outputs and compliance with audit and SOX requirements.
