Job summary

Streamline Search Limited is seeking a Junior Estimator to support the estimating team in preparing accurate costings for projects. You will work closely with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure high-quality project delivery and sound commercial decisions.

This role requires prior joinery, carpentry or woodworking experience and is office-based, offering £25,000–£30,000 per annum for 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence working with numbers and technical information
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications (or willingness to learn)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• A proactive and positive attitude
• An interest in construction, furniture making, architectural joinery or estimating

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of project estimates and costing documents
• Review enquiries, drawings and specifications to gather relevant information
• Support the management and assessment of incoming project enquiries
• Obtain quotations and pricing information from specialist suppliers and subcontractors
• Learn to review contracts and identify potential commercial risks
• Assist with client meetings and presentations where required
• Help prepare variations, cost reports and final accounts
• Maintain accurate records and estimating documentation
