Job summary

Red Rock Consultants Ltd in London is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our growing team. This role offers exposure to a wide range of projects, from small works around £10,000 to major schemes over £10 million, with a clear path to develop estimating and commercial project management skills.

You will work with experienced estimators, project managers, suppliers and clients, reviewing drawings, preparing estimates, taking-off quantities, and contributing to tender submissions to

Qualifications

• Experience or qualifications within construction, electrical engineering, building services or related discipline.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to organise workload and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.
• Assist with preparation of detailed project estimates and quotations.
• Take off quantities from drawings and project information.
• Obtain and analyse material, labour and subcontractor costs.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations.
• Assist with preparation of bills of quantities and pricing schedules.
• Identify project requirements, exclusions, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Support senior estimators with larger tenders.
• Maintain estimating records and project information.
• Assist tender submissions and meet deadlines.
• Develop understanding of project costs, margins and commercial considerations.
