Job summary

Ensigna Construction Ltd is seeking a Junior Estimator to join our pre-construction team. This role suits someone early in their estimating career or with construction experience looking to move into estimating.

You will support tendering, take-offs, supplier enquiries and value engineering, with a clear career path toward Estimator and beyond, while working with experienced teams on diverse projects. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating is beneficial but not essential.
• Interest in developing a career in construction estimating.
• Ability to read and understand drawings or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings and specifications.
• Support preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Take-off quantities from drawings and specs.
• Prepare subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for quotes.
• Review quotations against scope and specs.
• Assist with tender comparison and analysis.
• Identify gaps, risks and opportunities in tender data.
• Support assessment of preliminaries, labour, materials and costs.
• Assist with value engineering where appropriate.
• Maintain tender records and documentation.
• Collaborate with pre-construction, commercial and delivery teams.
• Attend site visits and tender meetings when required.
• Assist with tender handovers after contract awards.
• Develop understanding of end-to-end estimating process.
