Job summary

AMLR Recruitment Ltd is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to support our estimating team in Willand. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations for projects, with training and guidance provided to develop skills in estimating and engineering.

You will review drawings and specifications, perform take-offs, and assist with pricing, supplier comparisons and tender submissions. A clear path for learning and career development is offered.

Qualifications

• Some experience or knowledge of estimating, engineering or manufacturing (from the listing).
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of detailed cost estimates, tenders and quotations.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules and other project documentation.
• Take off quantities from drawings and prepare bills of quantities where required.
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assist with pricing materials, labour, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, databases and pricing information.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and other members of the project team.
• Assist Senior Estimators with tender submissions and cost analysis.
• Identify potential cost risks, omissions and discrepancies within tender documentation.
