Job summary

Student Times is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join our Ipswich office. You will work alongside experienced engineers designing electrical services across a varied mix of projects, with structured support to grow your technical skills and work towards professional registration.

The role involves assisting with electrical design, LV power distribution, lighting and containment, and supporting building systems; you will perform calculations, produce drawings with Revit, and attend site

Qualifications

• Assist with electrical system design and project delivery.
• Carry out cable sizing and calculations using industry software.
• Produce drawings and models with Revit under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of electrical services, including LV power distribution, small power, lighting and emergency lighting, containment, earthing and bonding.
• Support the design of building systems such as fire alarm, access control, security, data and lightning protection.
• Carry out calculations and cable sizing using industry software.
• Produce and coordinate drawings and models with Revit technicians and other disciplines.
• Prepare specifications, schedules and technical reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Attend site visits, surveys, inspections and design team meetings.
