Role: Junior DevOps Engineer

This role is within Foundations Technology – Cross Functions Common Components, supporting internal customers on Cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate within an Agile POD of Cloud DevOps Engineers to automate application deployment across environments.
• Build reusable deployment pipelines supporting services across Finance IT.
• Develop innovative CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Helm, Skaffold.
• Deploy Cloud infrastructure including Docker, Kubernetes, Compute Engine, Composer, and API support systems.
• Design software focusing on customer/user experience.
• Build tooling with languages such as Python and GoLang.
• Utilize deployment tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Work with Google Cloud products such as Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Logging, IAM, Pub/Sub, Kubernetes, Cloud Build, and Composer.
• Receive mentoring and training from team members.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience with Python and/or GoLang.
• Passion for technology and eagerness to learn new skills.
• Knowledge of deployment tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible, Terraform.
• Exposure to cloud technologies and concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently on multiple tasks.

This position is based in Sheffield with hybrid working arrangements.
