Job summary

Orona UK is seeking a motivated Junior Design Engineer to join our lift design team. This role offers hands-on experience across the complete design process and close collaboration with customers, architects and project teams.

Full training will be provided to develop your design skills. You will work in a hybrid environment, contributing to pre/post sales activities and ensuring designs meet safety and architectural requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or equivalent, ideally with a Mechanical Engineering background.
• Good practical understanding of AutoCAD or similar drawing software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre and post sales order, technical details including assessing access, builders work and H&S requirements.
• Understand, interpret and integrate architectural and technical drawings into a coordinated design.
• Prepare General Arrangement drawings with awareness of timescales and deadlines to meet customer requirements.
• Ensure the customer understands General Arrangement drawings through to full approval.
• Attend design meetings to liaise with customers, architects and project designers; check procurement software aligns with approved drawings.
• Coordinate requests for factory drawings and verify against approved design.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Design Engineer to join our team within the lift industry. This is a great opportunity for someone with a technical or engineering background to develop their design skills, working closely with customers, architects and project teams. Full training will be provided, with the role offering excellent opportunities to gain experience across the full lift design process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with pre and post sales order, technical details including assessing access, builders work and H&S requirement's
• Understanding, interpreting and integrating architectural and technical building drawings and information and incorporates within a coordinated working design
• General Arrangement drawings with an awareness of timescales and deadlines in respect of customer requirements, recording design process on company software systems
• To ensure the customer understands the General Arrangement drawings through to full approval
• Attending design meetings to liaise with customers, architects and project designersChecking company lift procurement software to ensure the requirements are fully aligned with approved drawings and specifications
• Requesting factory drawings and checks against the approved design
• Full training will be provided
