Job summary

Qualifications

Overview

We are working with a long-standing client of ours based in Wythenshawe who are experts in the aviation industry who are looking for a Design Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing aircraft soft furnishings for the civil and military aviation industry.
  • Generating production drawings for components and assemblies, using written specifications.
  • Working closely with the Office to maintain compliance with appropriate regulations.
  • Processing drawing change requests in accordance with our change management procedure.
  • Reverse engineering components for product improvement or changes using 2D metrology equipment.
  • Overseeing work through the business workflow and into full-scale production
  • Supporting and working closely with other departments of the business and suppliers where required.
  • Attending internal and customer-facing meetings as and when required
Qualifications
  • Great position for candidate starting their design journey
  • Degree-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in engineering field.
  • Experience using Solidworks
  • Can generate production drawings in AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD application.
  • An understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM)
  • Can use SolidWorks PDM vaulting system.
  • Can use Aprotec DMS vaulting system.
  • Can use in-house digitising equipment and associated software to reverse engineer patterns.
  • Can find solutions to complex technical problems relating to components.
  • Can support design work with calculations and theory where needed.
  • An awareness towards the aviation industry and its regulations.
