A leading sports data and analytics company in the UK is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join its team at the forefront of sports analytics. This role involves analyzing athlete tracking data to provide insights to clients such as broadcasters and professional coaches. Candidates should have a strong interest in sports, detailed knowledge of the PyData stack, and experience in data visualization. This position offers a hybrid work model with offices in London and Leeds.

Qualifications

• Strong interest and knowledge in a variety of sports, in particular tennis.
• Experience with the PyData stack (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib etc.).
• Knowledge of machine learning and statistical models.
• Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience conveying complex information through Data Visualisation.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced tennis analysts using an extensive tennis database.
• Analyse granular tracking data to generate insights on player performances.
• Opportunity to work on other sports like Cricket, Rugby & Horse Racing.

Skills

Strong interest in sports, particularly tennis

Experience with the PyData stack

Knowledge of machine learning models

Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL

Experience in Data Visualisation
