Job summary

Deloitte London is recruiting a Data Consultant for a 6-month contract, with strong potential to convert to permanent. The role covers data modelling, data management, analytics, and solution delivery across client engagements.

You will prototype and deploy data-driven solutions, perform systems analysis, and contribute to governance and quality standards. Ideal candidates bring experience with SQL, Python, Spark/Hadoop, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing, and can communicate complex concepts clearly

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data concepts such as data modelling, data management, data quality, master data management, reference data, reporting and visualisation, AI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex issues and propose practical, data-driven solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to tell a compelling story by structuring thoughts in a way that is engaging and easy to follow, including using data visualisations to evidence and articulate arguments.
• Ability to work independently, think strategically and solve problems, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Solution Development: prototype or develop technical solutions using low-code/no-code, robotic process automation or traditional programming languages.
• Systems Analysis: review existing systems and support future designs, including data models and interface specifications.
• Solution Deployment, Testing & Support: configuration, deployment and ongoing support with testing.
• Requirements & Analysis: gather and document business requirements, map processes and draft BRDs/user stories.
• Technical RequirementsDefinition: create high/mid-level technical specs to meet business needs.
• Data & Reporting: collect, analyse and interpret data; prepare reports and dashboards.
• Data Governance & Quality: develop data governance, security and quality standards.
• Quality Issue Feedback: provide metrics on content quality to stakeholders.
• Principles and Standards: contribute to ongoing development of technical standards.
• Best Practice: help develop and share best practices across Deloitte/DMS Digital.
