Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Junior Data Consultant to support DMS Digital engagements in London. The role focuses on data analysis, solution development, and governance within agile projects.

You will contribute to data models, dashboards, and quality improvements while collaborating with client stakeholders. Based in London with a hybrid work model, the role offers exposure to multiple data technologies and practical delivery experiences on client engagements.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional time management skills to manage competing priorities, across client service, practice development, and business development responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Solution Development: prototype or develop technical solutions using low-code/no-code, RPA or programming languages.
  • Systems Analysis: review as‑is systems and support to‑be designs with data models and interface specs.
  • Solution Deployment, Testing & Support: configure, deploy and test solutions with stakeholders.
  • Requirements & Analysis: gather and document requirements, map current processes and draft future designs.
  • Technical Requirements Definition: create high/mid-level specs to guide development.
  • Data & Reporting: collect, analyse data and prepare dashboards or reports for decision-making.
  • Data Governance & Quality: support data governance or security processes and quality monitoring.
  • Quality Issue Feedback: provide detailed quality metrics to providers and stakeholders.
  • Principles and Standards: contribute to standards for technical activities.
  • Best Practice: develop and share guidance across Deloitte engagements.
  • Internal Relationships: build relationships with technical support and related functions.
  • Risk Management: assist with risk controls for engagements.

Role Summary

DMS Digital Data Consultant provide a range of technical and business capabilities to DMS Digital and other engagements. These capabilities include solution development, data analysis, business analysis, systems analysis, quality assurance and documentation depending on the requirements of the individual project or engagement. Often seconded to DMS engagements, DMS Digital Developer/Technical Analysts quickly fill capability gaps for those engagements providing whatever support is required to ensure the on-time, on-cost and on-quality delivery of the engagement’s outcomes. DMS Digital Developer/Technical Analysts bring their broad range of technical knowledge and analytical skills to quickly provide value to unique or unfamiliar projects.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Solution Development

Responsible for the prototyping or development of technical solutions using low-code/no-code, robotic process automation or traditional programming languages. This may include the need to quickly learn a new technology and combine that new knowledge with solid technical best practice to create a demonstration, minimum viable product or full production-ready solution.

Systems Analysis

Reviewing existing systems (“as‑is”) and supporting the design of future technical solutions (“to‑be”) including the creation of system diagrams, data models, interface specifications, and logic flows. This may also include the identification of risks, dependencies, and impacts of system changes.

Solution Deployment, Testing & Support

Contribute to the configuration, deployment and ongoing support of technology solutions in collaboration with team members and client stakeholders. This may include the design, execution and reporting of unit, functional and acceptance testing.

Requirements & Analysis

Gathering and documenting business requirements through meetings, workshops, and documentation review. Analyse current “as‑is” business processes seeking out opportunities for improvement and the introduction of technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, low-code solutions and Ai. Draft or contribute to future “to‑be” process designs and the creation of business requirements documents, user stories, process maps, process definitions documents and flow diagrams. Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Technical Requirements Definition

Based on business requirements create high or mid-level technical specifications to enable the development of technology solutions to meet business needs. This may include the design of non-human process flows or the creation of a system specifications. Work will include ensuring that business requirements can feasibly be met by technology and also making high-level recommendations about the most appropriate technology or technical approach.

Data & Reporting

Collect, analyse, and interpret business, performance and other data as an input to process design or other workstreams. Assist with preparing reports, dashboards, or presentations for decision-making. Identify trends, risks, or opportunities that can be used to generate proposals or approaches.

Data Governance & Quality

Support or lead on the development of data governance, security, or confidentiality process or standards. This may later include work on monitoring compliance or data quality while flagging any issues or omissions.

Quality Issue Feedback

Providing to third party providers or internal stakeholders detail of content, input or output quality metrics derived from analysis and testing.

Principles and Standards

Contributing to the ongoing development and review of principles and standards applicable to technical activities in DMS Digital.

Best Practice

Contributing to the ongoing development and review of best practice guidance and instruction across all business, technical and support activities undertaken within DMS Digital or other engagements. This activity to be undertaken in collaboration with colleagues across Deloitte and in line with general industry recommendations.

Internal Relationships

Accountable and Responsible fordeveloping and improving relationships with technical support and related functions across Deloitte in support of shared standards and DMS Digital or other engagement activities.

Risk Management

Supporting the development, maintenance, improvement and management of risk controls pertaining to the activities of DMS Digital or other engagements.
