Job summary

Michael Page Legal is seeking a Junior Corporate Counsel to join our client’s Oxford office. You will handle a broad range of corporate, commercial and compliance matters, helping the business make informed decisions.

You will work with the Legal department on data protection, company secretarial activities, IP and governance, including DSARs, DPIAs, board support, due diligence and ad hoc matters. The role offers hybrid working, a £60,000 base salary DOE, and a 10% bonus.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified lawyer; SQE candidates encouraged to apply.
• Experience in corporate, commercial or compliance practice at a law firm or in-house.
• Practical data protection experience (UK/EU GDPR), incl. DSARs.
• Solid knowledge of fundamentals of company law and company secretarial practice.
• Ability to liaise with advisers across different jurisdictions/time zones.
• Strong judgement to identify risk and compliance issues.
• Familiar with using AI tools in a legal context and reviewing outputs.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
• Assist with board and shareholder resolutions and company secretarial duties.
• Support MIP administration, including share issues and leaver transfers.
• Manage IP portfolio and licensing queries.
• Assist with due diligence in corporate transactions and post-completion integration.
• Provide broader legal and compliance support across the business.
