Job description

The Junior Conveyancer will report directly to the Legal Manager and will be responsible for managing a busy caseload of plot sale matters from file opening to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company objectives. You will also support on part exchange purchases and associated re-sales.

As the Junior Conveyancer, you will generate reports from our internal case management system and liaise closely with our sales team to achieve plot sales on time.

The successful candidate will have some experience in conveyancing and new build, with excellent communication skills and good attention to detail.

Responsibilities of the role

1. Preparing documentation for each transaction, including but not limited to contract packs, handling enquiries, and preparing completion statements.
2. Taking instructions from internal clients and acting accordingly.
3. Delegated supervisory responsibilities as needed to administration and progression teams.
4. Maintaining knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
5. Liaising with the sales team on progression and working closely to achieve exchanges.
6. Registering part exchange purchases.
7. Building relationships and supporting the site team; visiting the site once a month to share best practices and legal process knowledge.
8. Supporting wider business teams with plot sale information when necessary.
9. Preparing updates for Monday sales/build forecasting meetings, including highlighting issues or blockers.
10. Serving notice on upcoming completions to ensure timely completion.
11. Supporting innovation within the department to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
12. Assisting with stamp duty requirements.
13. Providing administrative support during busy periods or holiday cover.
14. Keeping up to date with CPD requirements through sourcing courses and ensuring hours are met annually.
