Junior Compensation Accountant
To fully support the Compensation Accounting Manager in covering all aspects of Payroll Accounting, primarily for the EMEA operations of the BGC Group.
The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the development of the Compensation Accounting team while maintaining high standards of quality and control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process monthly payroll-related accounting entries in the GL, including salary, bonuses, dividends, stock sales, and cash breaks.
- Ensure the accuracy of Compensation-related P&L and Balance Sheet across EMEA operations through analytical reviews and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with HR/Payroll to obtain relevant information promptly for correct accounting treatment.
- Work closely with the Senior Compensation Accountant to ensure timely closure of payroll accounting matters.
- Prepare periodic RAG reports.
- Manage, control, and report related FX exposures timely.
- Coordinate with counterparts in the US and Asia, sharing best practices.
- Assist auditors by providing timely responses to queries.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Skills / Experience Required:
- Strong academic background, preferably working towards ACCA/CIMA qualification. Experience in UK financial services or Compensation Accounting is advantageous.
- Control mentality with excellent accounting, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, organize, and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Proactive attitude with a sense of responsibility.
- High attention to detail.
Systems Used:
- Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, SUMIFS, charts).
- Experience with Essbase and Oracle General Ledger is preferred.
- Familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
