Job summary

ITV Consumer Limited 2024 is seeking a Junior Software Engineer with 2+ years of commercial experience to join the CST team for a 1-year fixed-term contract in Leeds. You will focus on cloud infrastructure, Terraform IaC, and CI/CD pipelines while also working with Scala-based codebases.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, pair programming, and contribute to the Content Supply and Distribution group. A strong testing mindset and observability know-how are valued traits.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of commercial experience in software or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience writing and managing CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and AWS services (Lambdas, IAM, ECS, S3).
• Experience with Scala in a commercial environment or personal projects.
• Comfort reading, editing and navigating code in an IDE (e.g., IntelliJ IDEA, VS Code).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical, step-by-step approach.
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana or Prometheus.
• Experience with serverless components (e.g., AWS Lambdas) and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform to provision AWS resources.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for ad-hoc deployments.
• Replicate, adapt and deploy microservices and serverless components across supply chain products.
• Troubleshoot production issues using Grafana and Prometheus.
• Work inside Scala/JVM codebases with modern IDEs to update and integrate services.
• Collaborate through pair programming and agile teamwork.
