This exciting, innovative post will help a motivated doctor develop the career of a clinician with an interest in medical education and who is considering a future career in Neurology.
The 12 month post combines 50% time (0.5 FTE) as a Clinical Fellow (covering neurology inpatients), and 50% (0.5 FTE) as a Teaching Fellow.
As a Teaching Fellow, the post holder will coordinate, participate in, and further develop the established UCL Medical School (UCLMS) undergraduate clinical teaching programme for 5th year MBBS students in the Department for Neurology. On the clinical side, they will be responsible for the day to day care of inpatients based on a dedicated neurology ward where they will work closely with the neurology team. They will be trained to conduct Lumbar punctures on a regular basis. There is no on call commitment but the candidates could work on bank with clinical director’s permission. The post holder will also liaise with the lead on developing ward based education and clinical skills training for medical students, as well as for the ward team.
The post is available from August 2024 on a full time basis, based at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London.

The post holder will become an integral part of the neurology team with the primary aim of coordinating and providing high quality clinical undergraduate teaching as well as gaining experience in Neurology as a clinical speciality.
