Job description

Royal Devon University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Eastern Services are seeking to appoint 2 Junior Clinical Fellows inIntensive Care Medicine, with commencement dates of 6th August 2025. The tenure of all posts is 6 months with the possibility of extension depending upon service need. The posts do not attract a National Training Number.

The posts are based within the existing critical care teams with access to departmental teaching and other developmental opportunities. Despite not being recognised as ‘training posts’ they allow doctors to improve the breadth and depth of their experience in Intensive Care Medicine.

Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required.

The Eastern critical care services comprise a 15-bed unit (funded for 13 patients) providing Level 2 and 3 care for both the elective and emergency medical and surgical services. Specialist services include plastics, maxillofacial, gynae-oncology, urology, vascular, interventional radiology, complex orthopaedics, paediatrics, haematology/oncology, interventional cardiology, stroke, respiratory and renal. The ICU was graded as “outstanding” at the last CQC inspection in 2015.
