We recognise that Foundation Training is hard work and, whilst it provides a good base for future careers, not everyone who has completed it feels ready to commit to a specialty training scheme. With that in mind, we welcome applications from doctors taking a break from training following completion of foundation training.
These posts are designed to allow post-FY2 trainees to work in a friendly and supportive ED with an excellent reputation for training (one of the top ranked EDs in the country in recent GMC surveys).
This post may close early if there is a high level of applications
The post holder will join our 12-person rota but will benefit from 20% of their time being non-clinical. This time can be used to develop special interests and previous post holders have been involved in education and simulation, quality improvement and sports medicine, for example.
We believe this non-clinical time allows a less onerous work pattern and an opportunity to develop additional skills and experience. How you use your non-clinical time will be up to you but should be agreed with your clinical supervisor.
