Job summary

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Junior Technical Engineer in Flintshire on a 6‑month contract. The role centres on calibration and measurement tasks within an aviation‑adjacent environment, ensuring traceability and documentation compliance.

The candidate should have a mechanical/electronic engineering background, be capable of following procedures, and be prepared for SC clearance. IT proficiency and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Technical background in mechanical or electronic/electrical engineering.
• BTEC ONC or recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to follow/adhere to technical procedures.
• Working knowledge of IT systems (Word, Excel).
• SC clearance or eligible/willing to be put through SC clearance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out calibration and measurements per authorised documentation.
• Maintain calibration records and traceability to SI units.
• Inspect and recondition assets within specification.
• Report issues that may affect measurement integrity.
• Coordinate with engineering support for procedure amendments.
• Assist in development of calibration methodology and procedures.
