Job summary

Doocey Group is a long-established, family-run utility and civil engineering contractor based in Tipton. We are seeking a Junior Buyer to support transactional procurement, supplier coordination and admin tasks while developing core procurement and supply chain skills.

The role focuses on purchase orders, supplier communications, records and reporting to assist operational teams across the Civil unit, with opportunities for growth and a CIPS pathway.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
• Administrative or entry-level procurement exposure is helpful.
• Competence with Microsoft Excel and Office.

Responsibilities

• Raise purchase orders in line with approved requisitions.
• Obtain quotations from approved suppliers for cost-effective purchasing.
• Process delivery notes and goods-received information in procurement systems.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier data.
• Track orders and communicate updates to operations teams.
• Escalate pricing or supplier issues to the Buyer when needed.
• Support weekly procurement reporting and data collation.
• Assist with month-end reporting processes.
• Support system implementation and procurement process improvements.
• Develop knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain operations.
• Participate in training and potential CIPS pathway development.
