Junior Buyer Holiday Shop (1 Year Fixed Term Contract)

JUNIOR BUYER - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Reports to: Commercial Director

Location: Brighton – Hybrid working

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Pour Moi on a 1-year fixed term contract (FTC) as a Junior Buyer in the Holiday Shop department.

Our direct-to-consumer growth exceeds 50%, and our range now includes lingerie, swimwear, beachwear, clothing, sportswear, nightwear, and hosiery, with exciting new developments planned. Our teams are based in Brighton, and we work with blue-chip wholesale partners like M&S, Next, Very, and Bare Necessities. Our annual turnover is projected at £36 million, making us a leading lingerie and swimwear brand. We are looking for passionate individuals to join us in our next growth phase.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver collections that surpass customer expectations and meet sales & profit targets through product development and sourcing aligned with Pour Moi’s vision and strategy.
  2. Collaborate with Merchandising, Design, and Technical teams to manage the entire buying lifecycle from concept to trading, including sales monitoring and risk/opportunity identification.
  3. Manage product development of new collections, working with Design & Technical teams to create innovative, on-trend products. Identify new categories, source, and develop new factories.
  4. Line manage and develop the Student Buyers Admin Assistant, prioritizing workload and delegating effectively.
Position Requirements
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the Holiday Shop product range excites and meets customer demands, balancing trends, novelty, and commerciality.
  • Display deep customer knowledge of Pour Moi and the Holiday Shop market to influence buying decisions.
  • Ensure critical path milestones are met in line with sampling lead times.
  • Create seasonal strategies aligned with business goals, including competitor and market analysis, SWOT, pricing, sourcing, and range planning.
  • Analyze sales data regularly to identify risks, opportunities, and actions to improve sales and profitability, presenting insights to management.
  • Conduct competitor shops, market research, and price analysis, sharing insights with the team.
  • Develop a good understanding of trends, brand identity, and product knowledge to create appealing ranges.
  • Build ranges considering brand strategy, customer habits, market channels, trends, profitability, fit, pricing, margins, and lead times.
  • Present ranges for management approval and operate sign-off processes efficiently.
  • Cost and negotiate products to meet margin targets, understanding product costing and making necessary adjustments.
  • Establish and maintain productive supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Manage and develop the Student Buyers Admin Assistant, overseeing their responsibilities and supplier critical path management.
  • Support wholesale strategy and analyze sales across channels.
  • Assist with sample management, including approval, fitting, and photo shoot preparations.
  • Tools of the Trade
    • Experience managing a department/category and delivering KPIs, ideally 3-5 years in fashion buying.
    • Strong commercial awareness, trend knowledge, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to analyze data quickly and communicate risks and opportunities effectively.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of market trends and brands relevant to the target audience.
    • Proactive sourcing of new ideas and inspiration.
    • Strong product knowledge, attention to detail, adaptability, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Self-motivated, autonomous working style with a positive attitude.
    • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and internal systems.
    • Ability to build respectful, trust-based business relationships.
