JUNIOR BUYER - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Reports to: Commercial Director

Location: Brighton – Hybrid working

THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to join Pour Moi on a 1 year fixed term contract (FTC) as a Junior Buyer in the Holiday Shop department.

Based in Brighton, our team works across buying, design, technical, merchandising, marketing, and sales. We partner with M&S, Next, Very, and Bare Necessities, with an annual turnover of £36 million, making us a leading lingerie and swimwear brand. What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver collections that surpass customer expectations and meet sales & profit targets through product development and sourcing.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Design & Technical teams to manage the entire buying lifecycle from concept to sales, including monitoring performance and risks.
  • Manage product development, working with Design & Technical teams to create innovative, on-trend products and identify new categories and factories.
  • Line management and development of the Student Buyers Admin Assistant.

Position Requirements:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the Holiday shop product range excites and meets customer demands, balancing trends and commerciality.
  • Deep knowledge of Pour Moi and the Holiday shop market to influence buying decisions.
  • Ensure critical path milestones are met, aligning with sampling lead times.
  • Create seasonal strategies aligned with overall business goals, including competitor analysis, market research, and range planning.
  • Analyze sales data regularly to identify risks and opportunities, presenting insights to management.
  • Conduct competitor and market research, providing actionable insights.
  • Display creative flair and a good understanding of brand identity, trends, and product development.
  • Build ranges considering brand strategy, customer habits, market channels, trends, profitability, and logistics.
  • Present ranges for approval, ensuring timely sign-offs.
  • Cost products to meet margin targets, understanding garment construction and cost implications.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Manage and develop team members, supporting their workload and growth.
  • Support wholesale strategies and sample management.
  • Build effective cross-functional relationships internally and externally.

Tools of the trade:

  • Experience managing a department/category with KPIs, ideally 3-5 years in fashion buying.
  • Balance commerciality with trend-first opportunities, always prioritizing customer needs.
  • Numerical and negotiation skills, with the ability to analyze and communicate risks and opportunities.
  • Knowledge of current and future trends, brands, and retail landscape.
  • Proactive sourcing of ideas and inspiration.
