Responsibilities

• Support the buying and estimating process to meet customer requirements.
• Work with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate costs.
• Review pricing and margins to keep products commercially competitive.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain accurate product, pricing and supplier information.
• Assist with purchasing and sourcing activity.
• Support development and improvement of processes.
• Collaborate with Estimating and Sales teams.
• Manage workload and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Junior Buyer to join a prestigious manufacturing business within their busy Estimating team. This is a personality-led opportunity for someone who is ambitious, hardworking and eager to build a long-term career in Buying, Procurement or Supply Chain.

You don't necessarily need previous buying experience. The client is open to recent graduates from a range of backgrounds, particularly those with a strong commercial mindset, such as Economics, Business, Supply Chain or Logistics. What really matters is your attitude, willingness to learn, ability to use your initiative and desire to succeed.

What will you be doing as a Junior Buyer?

• Supporting the buying and estimating process to meet customer requirements
• Working with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate costs
• Reviewing pricing and margins to ensure products remain commercially competitive
• Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams
• Supporting the identification of cost-saving opportunities
• Maintaining accurate product, pricing and supplier information
• Assisting with purchasing and sourcing activity
• Supporting the development and improvement of processes
• Working closely with the Estimating and Sales teams
• Managing your own workload and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines

• A recent graduate looking to start a career in Buying, Procurement, Supply Chain or a commercial environment
• Graduates from Economics, Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or similar disciplines are encouraged to apply
• Previous experience in Buying, Purchasing, Procurement, Sourcing or Estimating would be advantageous but is not essential
• A hardworking, ambitious and driven personality
• Someone who is keen to learn and build a career
• Confident using your own initiative and not afraid to ask questions
• Strong commercial awareness and an interest in how businesses operate
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong attention to detail and an organised approach
• Comfortable working to deadlines and managing your own workload
• Confident using IT and learning new systems

• Salary up to 30,000, depending on experience
