Job description

We are looking for a self-motivated, adaptable & hard-working Junior Buyer to join the fast-paced environment of BEAUTY BAY. You will be responsible for working with the Private Label team as well as managing a selection of third-party brands, helping to deliver strong JBP’s that drive sales and align with overall business KPIs.

Reporting into the Senior Buyer, as Private Label & third-party Junior Buyer, you will negotiate key commercial factors such as price, volume, delivery, and trading terms. You will work well in a fast-paced environment alongside the Buying team and wider departments, ensuring excellent communication and collaboration.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with buying, product development, and other key stakeholders such as Marketing, Trading, and Logistics to ensure timely delivery of products according to launch plans.
• Prepare product-based analysis for trading decisions and proposals for assortment selection in partnership with merchandising.
• Independently lead strategic and trading meetings for a selection of brands.
• Negotiate terms, costs, and commercials with suppliers and brands.
• Conduct range reviews and develop strong JBPs to maximize commercial opportunities with brands.
• Set and evaluate supplier and brand performance against clear targets and KPIs.
• Ensure branded products meet relevant compliance, ethical standards, and requirements.
• Liaise with NPD, brands, and merchandising teams to identify future commercial opportunities.
• Coordinate with the new product development team to establish market placement for new launches, balancing product features and pricing.
• Regularly review own label products against competitor benchmarks.

About you

• Strong commercial/buying background with confident negotiation skills and a drive to increase sales and profitability.
• At least one year of experience as a buyer.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a keen eye for trends, commercials, and emerging brands.
• Experience in a fast-paced online retail environment, particularly within Beauty/Cosmetics sourcing.
• Well-organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities within deadlines.
• Ability to thrive under pressure.
• Strong analytical and financial skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Confident in building professional relationships and negotiating effectively.
