As a pivotal colleague to the commercial UK Power Trading teams, the job holder will help translate business strategies into actionable roadmaps with a dedicated focus on Renewables, Short Term Trading, and Dispatch. By deeply understanding the commercial objectives, this leader will drive impactful growth and innovation within the power trading sector.
Your responsibilities
- Understand the UK commercial trading strategies and contribute to the technology and IT focus therein.
- Support in creating the Technology Roadmap based on the CT30 Strategy alongside other Commercial Technology functions.
- Manage the Business Change of strategic projects, including prioritization and scope management on behalf of the desk heads.
- Program and Project Management of large IT projects.
- Work with CTG leads to set prioritization for the IT Programme/Project Managers, including financial planning with a strategic focus on the MTP.
- Ensure IT delivers projects within budget, time, and scope constraints, with stakeholder support and buy-in.
- Agree on the appropriate project delivery methodology and governance with stakeholders.
- Lead and motivate a team responsible for requirements gathering, business analysis, impact assessment, system design & specification, technical documentation, code delivery, system testing, UAT, implementation, business acceptance, and handover to support teams, including infrastructure requests by outsourced partners.
- Liaise and negotiate with key commercial areas to understand business strategies and their impact on the Technology Roadmap.
- Collaborate with Project Management teams from CTG and IT to improve delivery capabilities.
Your profile
Essential- Strong academic record, likely with graduate-level education.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Consultancy skills (workshop facilitation, presentation).
- Influencing skills (stakeholder management).
- Ability to establish and develop effective relationships with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Good financial and commercial awareness.
- Ability to identify, communicate, and solve complex problems.
- Experience managing multi-million, multi-year IT programs in the energy sector.
Desirable- Commercial experience in the Power Sector.
