Bennett And Game Recruitment in Shaftesbury is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper to join our accountancy practice on a full-time, onsite basis. The role offers training toward AAT Level 2 and exposure to bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll support.

Qualifications

• Little to no prior experience required; desire to begin a career in accountancy practice.
• Studying towards or possessing an interest in starting AAT Level 2 qualifications.
• High numerical accuracy and analytical thinking.
• Strong written and verbal communication and IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a varied client portfolio, processing invoices.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations across bank accounts, credit cards, and online payment platforms.
• Assist senior team with preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• Act as a polite and professional point of contact for clients, handling queries.
• Assist with client payroll processing, tax administration, and routine HMRC communications.
• Support wider accounts team with basic sole trader accounts and admin tasks.
