Real Recruitment Solutions is hiring a Junior Bookkeeper for an on-site role in Shaftesbury. The position offers £23,500–£25,900 per annum, a 35-hour week, and a clear path to AAT Level 2 along with ongoing training and career progression.

You will maintain client bookkeeping, reconcile accounts, assist with VAT returns and payroll, and liaise with clients and HMRC. The role suits a candidate with little experience who is eager to start an accountancy career in a supportive practice.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; eager to start an accountancy career.
• Studying towards or interested in starting AAT Level 2 qualifications.
• High numerical accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good IT literacy and confidence using modern cloud-based accounting platforms.
• Full commitment to working onsite at the Shaftesbury office, with occasional flexibility for home working.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a varied client portfolio.
• Process sales and purchase invoices.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations across bank accounts, credit cards and online payments.
• Assist with VAT returns preparation and submission.
• Serve as a professional point of contact for clients and handle queries.
• Assist with client payroll processing and tax administration.
• Support the wider accounts team with basic sole trader accounts and administrative tasks.
