Junior QA Engineer (automation, AI startup)

Remote (UK only)

Up to £45,000

Ideally, you'll possess a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field from a top university, and/or have experience working for an AI-native or AI-focused business.

Better Placed Tech has partnered with a Microsoft-backed AI company that is close to securing a major seed round from a leading AI venture capital firm. With this impending funding and a strong client base, they are expanding their UK team.

The founding team includes industry leaders and innovators from renowned tech companies and educational institutions worldwide. They are working on cutting-edge technologies that are revolutionizing AI.

Now is an exciting time for a mid-level QA Engineer to join and become a key member of the UK team.

This role is fully remote, but travel to Silicon Valley 1-2 times per year for collaboration would be beneficial.

The Job

You will be a talented, motivated QA Engineer with either a top university degree in Maths/CS or 6-12 months experience in an AI startup. As a key UK hire, you will collaborate with a talented team of software and ML engineers, acting as their dedicated tester.

Experience and skills required:

Useful skills include:

• Python testing: pytest
• Selenium
• Unit and integration testing, end-to-end testing

AI-specific testing tools:

• Model testing: MLflow for tracking experiments
• A/B testing: Split or GrowthBook for model comparison
• Performance monitoring: Weights & Biases or TensorBoard

API & Integration Testing:

• REST API testing: Postman, REST-assured, or pytest with requests

The key requirement is experience working in AI startups with small teams of AI and ML engineers.
