Job summary

Unknown Cambridge-based consultancy seeks a Junior/Assistant Civil Engineer to join its team on a range of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. Exposure to drainage, highways, SuDS and flood risk will be gained alongside experienced engineers.

You should have a civil engineering qualification and at least 1 year of relevant experience; AutoCAD and Civil 3D familiarity is advantageous. The role supports ICE progression with hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a consultancy.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience or knowledge of drainage, highways, SuDS and/or flood risk.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD; Civil 3D advantageous.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Interest in ICE professional accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the design of highways, drainage and infrastructure schemes.
• Assisting with SuDS, surface water and flood risk solutions.
• Working on S278 and S38 schemes.
• Producing drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
• Using AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop designs.
• Liaising with clients, developers, architects and local authorities.
• Working to relevant standards including Manual for Streets, SuDS Manual, Sewers for Adoption and DMRB.
• Developing technical and project coordination skills alongside senior engineers.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer with at least 1 year of experience looking to develop their career across a range of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, with exposure to drainage, highways, SuDS and flood risk.
