City of York Council are currently recruiting for Joiners with a passion for Customer Service. If you believe you could be an important addition to our current team of tradesmen and provide exceptional customer care, then please get in touch.

You will also be required to carry out joinery call out on a rota system this is compulsory included in the job contract.

You must have a skill set to be comfortable in working with customers located in Council Housing Stock.

You will be required to have proof of qualifications to undertake the works carried out

You will be pro-active in arranging a first-time fix for CYC dwellings.

In return you will be provided with an excellent salary, works van, PDA, PPE, phone ongoing training in required systems of work.

Working hours will be 08:00-16:00 Monday to Thursday and on Friday 08:00 - 15:30.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level B2: Can adjust to the changes of direction, style and emphasis normally found in conversation. Can produce stretches of language with a fairly even tempo; although they can be hesitant as they search for patterns and expressions, there are few noticeably long pauses.
