Job summary

Rentokil Initial Group in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Joiner Technician to handle domestic and commercial joinery work. You will replace decayed timber, renew skirting, and perform restoration and preservation tasks on-site.

The role offers a full-time schedule with a Basic salary from £26,962 to £27,999 per year, plus benefits such as a company vehicle, fuel card, and relocation support where applicable.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence held for more than two years with no more than six penalty points.
• Formal joinery qualification such as carpentry and joinery NVQ Level 2 preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Flexibility with working patterns to support business needs.
• May be required to pass a DBS check depending on the role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first and second fix joinery, incl. joists, flooring, skirting boards and timber repairs.
• Perform preservation works on site, including stripping and replacing timber elements.
• Support damp proofing and removal of wall coatings and related treatments.
• Carry out timber treatments such as woodworm and fungal decay work.
• Provide advice to customers and deliver high levels of service.
• Adhere to risk assessments and health & safety on-site.
• Ensure sites are left clean and tidy; complete branch tasks as required.

The Joiner Technician Role

As a Joiner Technician, you will play a key part in delivering work for our customers on both domestic and commercial jobs. Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out first and second fix joinery, focusing on replacing decayed joists and flooring, renewing skirting boards and other general timber repairs
• Implementing preservation works on site, which could include stripping and replacing timber floors, door frames, architraves and windows
• Supporting with damp proofing and removing of wall coatings including plaster, woodworm treatments, wall tie installation and cavity drain membrane installation
• Carrying out timber treatments such as woodworm, sprays & fungal decay work
• Offering valuable advice to customers and providing a high level of service
• Adhering to all risk assessments and health & safety measures on-site
• Ensuring any sites are left clean and tidy
• Completing other required tasks within the branch as required

Requirements
