Job summary

North Yorkshire Council in Selby is seeking a qualified Joiner to carry out maintenance, refurbishment or construction works on social housing stock to meet Decent Housing Standards. You will join the Housing Standards Team to support across improvements and repairs.

The role requires domestic joinery expertise, health and safety compliance, and willingness to undertake training and on-call duties. A council vehicle is provided, and generous leave and pension benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified Joiner with relevant experience in domestic joinery operations.
• Knowledge ofHealth & Safety and Building Regulations.
• Ability to provide out-of-hours emergency joinery service on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic Joiner refurbishments.
• Record and monitor supplied equipment as necessary.
• Work to Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work.
• Undertake mandatory and skills-based training.
• In a Multi-Skilled role, contribute to other trades when trained.
