Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a skilled Joiner to join the Housing Standards Construction Team. You will carry out major improvements, adaptations and new builds, with most projects on unoccupied properties.

This role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship and collaboration with other trades. You may be asked to participate in an out-of-hours rota and will have access to a company vehicle for daily duties.

Qualifications

• Relevant joinery qualifications and extensive construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Building Regulations.
• Good communication with customers and colleagues.
• Able to undertake 1st and 2nd fix joinery work.

Responsibilities

• Perform domestic joinery and repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of work and equipment used.
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards and safe working practices.
• Participate in mandatory training and skills development.
• Carry out repairs in related trades (e.g., plumbing).
