Job summary

Gentoo Group Limited is seeking an experienced Joiner to prepare homes for new customers in Sunderland. This fixed-term role runs from November 2026 to March 2027, with potential extension up to 12 months.

You will perform general joinery repairs, install kitchens, doors and roofing, and collaborate with other trades to deliver quality customer service. Expect a 36-hour week from Monday to Friday, with early finish on Fridays and a strong work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Joinery qualification required (apprenticeship or NVQ/City & Guilds).
• UK driving licence is essential and a basic DBS check is required.
• Experience delivering customer service in a front-facing role is preferred.
• Ability to use handheld technology to record and update work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general joinery repairs and preservation work.
• Install and repair kitchens, doors and roofing across Sunderland.
• Work with wider trades to complete plastering, tiling, brickwork, plumbing and painting tasks.
• Maintain van stock and use RAMS and safety guidelines in daily tasks.
• Record progress, communicate with the Repairs Manager and support customers.
