Job summary

Places for People is hiring a qualified Joiner to carry out installations and repairs in domestic properties within your local area. You will travel in a company van, work to set standards, and contribute to preserving customers' homes.

You'll join a team that values safeguarding and professional delivery, with 35 days leave, pension, and a clear path for progression. A valid UK driving license and NVQ2 in Joinery are essential.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Joinery.
  • Experience working as a Joiner, ideally within social housing or domestic properties.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Based within the TS postcode area.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out joinery installations and repairs within domestic properties.
  • Completing work such as doors, kitchens, flooring and internal fittings.
  • Working to specifications, reports, and agreed standards.
  • Protecting Customers' homes and belongings while completing work.
  • Collaborating with supervisors, schedulers and wider teams to meet deadlines.
  • Recording work activity and completing required documentation.
  • Supporting apprentices and contributing to team performance and KPIs.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carrying out joinery installations and repairs within domestic properties
  • Completing work such as doors, kitchens, flooring and internal fittings
  • Working to specifications, reports, and agreed standards
  • Protecting Customers' homes and belongings while completing work

What Your Day Looks Like
  • A structured schedule covering repairs and maintenance work
  • Travelling between jobs in your company van
  • Working independently or with a team of other tradespeople
  • Engaging directly with Customers in their homes
  • Completing work efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance standards

  • A range of domestic properties within your local area
  • Environments involving vulnerable Customers
Essential Criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Joinery
  • Experience working as a Joiner, ideally within social housing or domestic properties
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Due to the area this patch covers, you will need to be based within the TS postcode
Nice To Have (not Essential)
  • Experience working across multiple trades
  • IT literacy or willingness to learn digital systems
Our hiring process

This role will require a Basic DBS check. You may be required to work across surrounding areas.
