CDD Services, on behalf of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking a joiner to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across Darlington Memorial Hospital sites. The role involves doors, locks, partitions, floors, ceilings, and bespoke joinery, in occupied healthcare buildings with an on-call rota.

You will interpret drawings, complete electronic work records, work safely with mobile devices, drive a current UK licence, and collaborate with Estates trades.

Qualificações

• City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Joinery or equivalent.
• Post-apprenticeship experience in joinery maintenance.
• Customer-focused and able to work in healthcare environments.

This Joiner post sits in the Estates Team at Darlington Memorial Hospital, employed by CDD Services, a subsidiary of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. The work covers planned and reactive joinery maintenance, repair and installation across contracted sites, from doors and locks to partitioning and bespoke pieces. It takes place in occupied healthcare buildings and includes a building on-call rota. Sponsorship cannot currently be offered while UKVI approval is pending.

What the job involves

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive joinery repairs across hospital sites
• Hang, adjust, repair and replace doors
• Fit and maintain locks and ironmongery
• Carry out flooring, ceiling and window repairs
• Erect stud partition walls and install plasterboard
• Fit skirting boards, architraves, door casings and worktops
• Undertake bespoke joinery work and signage installation
• Interpret drawings and specifications and carry out work to a high standard with minimal supervision
• Complete electronic work records using mobile devices
• Use workshop equipment safely and effectively
• Support other Estates trades where required
• Take part in the building on-call rota

What’s required

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Joinery or equivalent recognised qualification

Experience

• Post-apprenticeship experience in joinery maintenance and installation
• Experience of building maintenance repairs
• Experience of working with customers and providing customer-focused services

Skills & knowledge

• Working independently and on own initiative
• Knowledge of building maintenance and joinery repairs
• Interpreting technical drawings and specifications
• Good communication and customer service skills, including exchanging technical information
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and safe working in occupied healthcare buildings
• Using mobile technology to record and manage work

Checks & eligibility

• Current UK driving licence

Nice to have
