Your new company
We are seeking a skilled Joiner to join a maintenance team for a Facilities Management company specialising in hospital and large commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with fire doors and be able to pass a DBS check.

Your new role

• Install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, including doors, window frames, staircases, and furniture.
• Conduct fire door inspections and perform maintenance/installation work.
• Ensure fire doors are fitted, inspected, and maintained to comply with safety regulations.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance on hospital fabric, including external doors, access doors, windows, flooring, suspended ceilings, walls, and fireproofing.
• Inspect structures and fixtures to diagnose issues and determine necessary repairs or replacements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Collaborate with team members and supervise apprentices and helpers as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as a joiner, particularly in hospital and large commercial settings.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and machinery.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry materials and construction methods.
• Experience with fire doors is essential.
• Ability to pass a DBS check.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification is a plus.
