Job summary

Places for People in Leeds is seeking a qualified Joiner to carry out joinery installations and repairs in domestic properties across our area. You will travel in the company van, work to specifications, and protect customers' homes while delivering quality workmanship.

This is a permanent role with 35 days leave (incl. bank holidays), pension with matched contributions, overtime opportunities, and a bonus scheme up to 2%. Tools, uniform, PPE and a fuel card are provided to support you daily.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Joinery.
• Experience as joiner in social housing or domestic properties.
• Full UK driving license.
• Based within the advertised postcode area.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out joinery installations and repairs within domestic properties.
• Completing work such as doors, kitchens, flooring and internal fittings.
• Recording work activity and completing required documentation.
• Traveling between jobs in company van; working independently or with a team.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out joinery installations and repairs within domestic properties
• Completing work such as doors, kitchens, flooring and internal fittings
• Working to specifications, reports, and agreed standards
• Protecting Customers' homes and belongings while completing work
• Collaborating with supervisors, schedulers and wider teams to meet deadlines
• Recording work activity and completing required documentation
• Supporting apprentices and contributing to team performance and KPIs

What your day looks like

• A structured schedule covering repairs and maintenance work
• Travelling between jobs in your company van
• Working independently or with a team of other tradespeople
• Engaging directly with Customers in their homes
• Completing work efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance standards

Where you'll work

You will be working across:

• Occupied homes
• Empty (void) properties
• A range of domestic properties within your local area
• Environments involving vulnerable Customers

Essential Criteria (you need to meet all of these to be shortlisted)

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Joinery
• Experience working as a Joiner, ideally within social housing or domestic properties
• Full UK driving licence
• Due to the area this patch covers, you will need to be based within the advertised postcode

Nice to have (not essential)

• Experience working across multiple trades
• IT literacy or willingness to learn digital systems
