Job summary

Essential Employment in Barnsley is seeking a joiner for a temporary assignment to deliver high-quality repairs and improvements to our properties.

You will work both independently and as part of a Damp and Mould Team, carrying out joinery tasks, removing and refitting kitchens, and supporting ongoing remediation projects.

The role offers hands-on duties, a PAYE rate of £15.85 per hour, and a chance to contribute to safe, well-maintained homes in the community.

• Experience in joinery and repairs in housing properties.

As part of our Damp and Mould Team, you will work both independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality repairs and improvements to our properties.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of damp and mould remediation works.
• Removing and refitting kitchen units as part of planned improvement and repair programmes.
• Carrying out follow-on works following plastering and other remedial treatments.
• Assisting with a variety of day-to-day responsive repair activities as required.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, with a focus on customer satisfaction, health and safety, and quality workmanship.

The successful candidate will be a flexible team player with experience in a range of joinery skills, capable of working on their own initiative while contributing effectively to a wider operational team.
