We have an exciting vacancy for a Clinical Fellow in Medical Microbiology at our University College Hospital site for 7 months, starting at the end of July 2025. This role offers an opportunity to join a dynamic department involved in specialist haematology, oncology, neurology, and neurosurgical services, with liaison across various departments within a London teaching hospital.
The post-holder will provide clinical support to departmental consultants and trainees, delivering key services in clinical microbiology. Access to resources and training opportunities available to specialist trainees in the department, part of the ‘Bloomsbury hub’ for infection training in London, will be provided.
The Department of Clinical Microbiology offers comprehensive training for Medical Microbiology, Virology, and Infectious Diseases Specialist Registrars, aligning with the standards for Core and Higher Specialty Infection Training for the FRCPath examinations (Part 1 and Part 2).
The department liaises with the diagnostic microbiology laboratory and provides clinical advice and antimicrobial stewardship to teams across UCLH NHS Foundation Trust. It collaborates with Infection Prevention and Control, Infectious Diseases, and Virology to deliver a comprehensive Infection Service.
