Job description

Contract: Fixed Term Contract - until July 2027

Hours: Part Time – 22.5 hours per week

DBS requirement: Enhanced and Barred

This role does not offer eligibility for visa sponsorship.

This role requires regular travel across an allocated area and therefore, a Full Driving License and access to your own vehicle with business insurance are essential.

This role offers a starting salary within Nacro’s pay structure of Entry Salary £26,807 with expected progression to Established Salary £27,477 which is pro rata for this part-time position within the first year, subject to meeting clear criteria and performance standards, with further pay progression available in the future. About the Role

The Job Coach will provide ongoing, person-centred support to interns throughout their workplace journey. You will work closely with employers and partner organisations to ensure that placements are positive, productive and aligned with the individual's aspirations and long-term employment goals.

You will be expected to adapt your approach to meet individual needs, encourage independence and gradually reduce support as the intern develops confidence and competence in the workplace.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Job Coach to provide personalised support to interns within real workplace environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping individuals develop their employability skills, increase their independence and progress towards sustainable employment.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Provide one-to-one coaching, guidance and practical support to interns within workplace settings.
• Support individuals to develop employability, communication, interpersonal and independent living skills.
• Provide travel training and support individuals to develop confidence and independence when travelling to and from work.
• Work collaboratively with employers to identify and develop suitable work placement and employment opportunities.
• Monitor progress, maintain accurate and confidential records, and contribute to individual employment and development plans.
• Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with interns, families, employers, education providers and partner organisations.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion and professional standards at all times.
• Support interns to overcome barriers to employment and develop the confidence and skills required to progress into sustainable employment.
• Experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs, disabilities or barriers to employment.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, training or workplace support.
• Knowledge and understanding of employability skills and safeguarding.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to build effective relationships with individuals, employers, families and professional partners.
• A person-centred, flexible and positive approach.
• The ability to encourage, motivate and empower individuals to achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification or experience in SEND, education, supported employment, careers or vocational training.
• Experience working within a Supported Internship or Project SEARCH programme.
• Experience delivering or supporting travel training.
• Knowledge of reasonable adjustments and workplace support strategies.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, where required for the role.
