Job summary

Catch22 is seeking a Career Coach to support local communities across a national green skills and employability project funded by Shell. You will report to the Operations Manager and work with an experienced employability team to help participants progress into apprenticeships, employment, education, and training opportunities, including Net Zero careers.

• Inducting, assessing, and onboarding participants with information, advice and guidance.
• Promoting mindset, emotional intelligence, and self-esteem in participants.
• Preparing CVs, cover letters and job applications with participants.
• Short listing and submitting participants to vacancies and work experience opportunities.
• Coaching for strength-based recruitment and interview preparation.
• Engaging participants to sustain employment or apprenticeships for at least six months.
• Supporting delivery of Job Fairs, Workshops and Seminars, both in person and remotely.

Job Description

The role ofCareer Coachis an excellent opportunity to work within the local community, across a new national green skills and employability project, funded by Shell. Reporting to the Operations Manager, and working alongside an experienced employability team, you will support service users to progress into apprenticeships, employment, education, and training opportunities, on their journey intoNet Zero Careers .

About You

• An experienced Career Coach, who works within local communities, to support service users to progress into apprenticeships, employment, education, and training opportunities.
• Strong interpersonal and communicative skills, with the ability to develop strong rapport with referral partners, customers, training providers, employers, and participants.
• Approachable, adaptable, and supportive to the range of stakeholders involved in this programme.
• A positive, enthusiastic approach to problem solving, and a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Great organisational, administrative, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work to deadlines, produce reports, and deliver on objectives.

Main Duties and Accountabilities

• Inducting, assessing, and 'on-boarding' participants, delivering high quality end to end information, advice, and guidance.
• Promoting and developing the mind-set, emotional intelligence, self-confidence, and esteem of participants, so that they are better equipped, and succeed in the world of work.
• Preparing CVs, cover letters, and job/apprenticeship application forms with participants, and undertaking job searches using relevant web-based software and packages.
• Short listing, pre-selecting, and matching/submitting participants to vacancies/work experience opportunities generated by the Catch22 account management team, and preparing job packs on specific vacancies/work experience opportunities.
• Introducing participants to a 'strength based' recruitment approach to succeeding in job interviews, preparing them to a high standard for interview with employers, and arranging interviews for participants where appropriate.
• Engaging and maintaining regular contact with participants at agreed intervals to ensure that they sustain their job or apprenticeship, and delivering high quality In Work Support, which effectively sustains participants for a minimum of six months.
• Supporting with the delivery of any Job Fairs, Workshops, and Seminars, both face to face, and remote, that prepare participants ready for the world of work.
• Experience of coaching, and delivering services, within the Employability sector
• Desirable: qualification in IAG (L3), ERS (L3), Coaching
• Experience and knowledge of strength based recruitment

Additional Information

Salary:£28,000 per annum
Hours of work:Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract:(Maternity Cover until 31/05/2027)
Flexibility:Hybrid working - office based work and outreach work across Liverpool, with opportunities for remote working

Some evening and weekend working may occasionally be required.
